Tugaloo State Park - Lake Hartwell

Tugaloo State Park is a Georgia State Park located at Lake Hartwell. The park offers numerous outdoor recreation activities for the whole family. Activities include, camping, rental cottages, boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking, nature watching, and swimming. Tugaloo also has picnic shelters, a group shelter and a pavilion. The park has a $5 daily or $50 annual parking fee and park hours are 7 AM - 10 PM. There are 105 RV/Trailer/Tent campsites available at Tugaloo State Park. These sites all feature electrical and water hookups. 11 walkin-in primitive tent campsites are also available. Campground amenities include showers, restrooms, cable TV hookups, dump station and laundry facilities. Camp rates are $25 - $32 per night for standard campsites and $23 per night for walk-in sites.

For a more upscale camping experience Tugaloo has 6 yurts available for $70 per night. Yurts are large canvas and wood tents that are heated with furniture inside. The yurt can sleep up to 6 people and include electrical outlets. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, linens and cooking utensils. There is a grill/fire ring for cooking and water is available. Yurt campers have access to showers and restroom facilities. No pets are allowed.

Tugaloo State Park also has 20 cottages available for rent. Cottages include stoves, refrigerators, kitchen, dining utensils, and linens. Some cottages feature private docks. Pet friendly cottages are available with and additional fee of $45 per dog with a 2 dog maximum. Cottage rental rates are $145 per night.

If you are looking to host a large gathering at Lake Hartwell, Tugaloo State Park has a number of options for you and your group. There are 7 Picnic Shelters that reserve for $40 per day. A Group Shelter that seats 80 and reserves for $115 per day and a Pavilion that reserves for $80 per day and seats 80 people.

For boaters the park features a mega six lane boat ramp and 2 smaller ramps for quick easy access to the waters of Lake Hartwell. Fishing is a poplar activity and with the park's large boat ramp it is often the launch site for fishing tournaments. Common fish species that are caught at the lake include large mouth bass, striper, bluegill, crappie and catfish. A valid Georgia or South Carolina Fishing license is required. In addition to camping, boating and fishing there are many more recreation opportunities at the park. Kayaks and Canoes are available for rent during the summer season. There are 4 miles of hiking trails within the park. Tennis Courts, Volleyball, Horseshoes, a Playground and Miniature Golf are also available.
